Thomas Christopher Colby is originally from Ohio and studied and worked all over the world including New York, Chicago, DC and London. Currently living and working in Los Angeles in film, TV and Theatre.
Born in Cincinnati, Thomas grew up with a musical family. Many members playing multiple instruments and writing and singing. His grandfather was a big band performer with the accordion and piano. Following in the footsteps of music, Thomas studied piano, voice and clarinet before switching to a focus on the performing arts with acting. In high school the acting bug officially bit and upon receiving scholarships he attended Ohio University’s acting program and graduated with a BFA in Theatre. While at OU, he won the J. Michael Bloom scholarship to study abroad in London at Regent’s College and with the prestigious British American Dramatic Academy as well as The Royal Academy of Music.
Working directly out of college with tours he landed for a while in Washing DC and worked at many of the local Theatres as well as winning an award for his performance of Mary Sunshine in the Musical Chicago. After moving to the city, Chicago, he worked in many of the store front and Equity houses as well as moving forward in the rich arena of Chicago commercials.
Soon it was time to move to Los Angeles and further dive into film and TV. Thomas continues his love of Theatre as well as adding voice over, directing and writing to his credits. Life is a journey and acting and his love of the arts continues.
Thomas is a member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors Equity Association.
